JP and I met 22 year-old Marcus Tuesday afternoon. We asked him if he had any spiritual beliefs and he said he believes in a higher power possibly being God and that he was open to hearing anything. We talked to him for a bit and had him read verses in Romans. He said he liked talking to us and was interested in meeting up later in the week to talk more or have a Bible study. Two days later we picked Marcus up and took him to a pizza restaurant with David Huoh and a boy named Chris. At first it was awkward and JP and I didn’t know how to lead the Bible study but then Marcus talked about his search for something more. He realized something was missing in his life. We saw that he was “thirsty” so we read the chapter in John about the Samaritan woman at the well who had an unquenchable thirst. I think the Bible verses really hit home with Marcus because it was so relatable. He asked us a lot of good questions and we gave him the last piece of pizza and his own New Testament Bible! I was really encouraged to see that Marcus was thirsty and that he wanted to pursue his relationship with God. This was my first G.O. and it was amazing to see God working in people! All of my expectations were exceeded and it was the most worthwhile week of my life. I hope to make G.O. a lifestyle and to help build up the church family. Glory to God for such a precious week!
