High School Camp 2024
Theme: All Things New
Through much prayer and consideration, we have decided to host a High School Camp purely for High School students (incoming 9th graders to graduating seniors) this year.
High school is a crucial time when young people begin to grapple with some of the toughest questions they will face: “Who am I? Why am I here? What is my place in the world?” Yet, many of the answers given to high schoolers today come from a culture increasingly distant from biblical truths. To openly be a Christian faces more scrutiny and ridicule than it has ever before, and there are waves and winds of doctrine and the trickery of men aiming to hinder or even shipwreck the faith of young believers.
The burden of High School Camp is to provide an environment where young people can explore these questions in the safety of the household of God, the church, the pillar and support of the truth. A young person who knows God’s purpose and promises has a hope anchored within the veil; one who knows the Word of God and obeys it has a house built on a solid foundation; and one who has experienced the fellowship of the church, a family that can’t be torn apart, knows where they belong.
These three focuses, God’s purpose, the Word, and the practical church life will be experienced through ministry, singing, small group discussions, activities, fellowship with younger and older, reading the Word, prayer, and reflection. Young people will be given a taste of how to have a healthy life with Jesus in the context of a loving church life, as well as having a lot of fun with one another. We hope to encourage a generation to know the Lord, to love the Lord, and to contribute to the building up of the family of God.
