2016 Camps!!!Craft Camp
Sew Crafty Camp: Join the DIY (do-it-yourself) revolution! A new generation is discovering the joys of "handmade". In the midst of the digital age, crafting is relaxing and a great outlet for your creativity. Using color and texture as our inspiration, we will be creative with fabric, yarn, and beads. Campers will learn how to use a sewing machine to make a tote bag, pouches, or a small quilt. Campers will also learn how to crochet a square which can be turned into a bag or a blanket. In addition, we will have a session on making jewelry with glass and metal beads. All tools and supplies will be provided, although campers are welcome to bring their own materials if they wish. Limited to 8 campers. Dance Camp Dance and fun. Anyone who is interested by these two things should come to Dance Camp!! It doesn’t matter if you are experienced or a beginner, come and learn/discover how to use that talent of yours for God. Dance is all about expressing something through your movements. You can tell a story, an experience, express an emotion… really, anything you want. Everyone has something to say, and whatever that is, it is most definitely valuable. Come and learn new techniques, choreographies, and dance tips. All ages 12 and up are welcome to come. Bring your smile, enthusiasm and water bottle, and be ready to have fun!! Music Camp Hey there! Do you play an instrument? Do you sing? Want to learn how to use your skill to bring God glory? Well then, do we have the camp for you! If you are age 14 or older, or have at least 3 years experience, the place for you this summer is the 2016 Summer Christian Music Camp! What will we do there? Tons of cool stuff! We’ll have ear training, rhythmic drills, music theory, hymns, new music, ensemble rehearsals and more! And this year’s SCMC will have sessions for musicians at both the beginner and intermediate levels. Plus, we will explore how you can use your skills at home, in your youth group, or your church! All of this with a good dose of the Bible and healthy worship. Sports Camp Have you ever thought about including God in your sport? If you have, Sports Camp 2016 is the place for you! If you haven’t, Sports Camp 2016 is still the place for you! We will be playing volleyball, football, ultimate Frisbee, soccer and basketball. All skill levels are welcome, ages 13 and up. Join us while we learn through training sessions, scrimmages, and tournaments. Also if you want to learn how to work as a team so that your team gets the greatest benefit then come on out and learn to work together! At Sports Camp, we want to be able to learn to use our interests and talents as a way to express Christ through our actions on and off the field, court or whatever you play on. So come! Bring your A‐game, get ready to sweat, and most of all get ready to have fun! Writing Camp This camp is for anyone and everyone with a story to tell, and who wants to learn to tell it better. Whether in fiction or nonfiction, poetry or prose, God-talk or otherwise, this week will help you fine tune your capacity for expression and explore the forces of human emotion and experience. Words are powerful. Come learn how to make people laugh, cry, get angry, and even find God with your words. Open to ages 13 and up. |
